Microdermabrasion

This is an exciting new treatment which is a fast and efficient way of removing dead cell tissues from the outermost layer of your skin.  Your skin will look younger and healthier.  Regular treatments will maintain a youthful appearance especially when part of a well organized regimen of skincare.  Microdermabrasion offers a viable and cost effective alternative to the expendature of thousands of dollars on more invasive techniques, such as laser skin resurfacing.

Microdermabrasion provides:
Superficial skin exfoliation for the removal of fine lines and wrinkles
Reduction of open pores
Gentle removal of thickened skin areas due to impact of environmental factors
Reduction of blemishes caused by sun damage
Elimination of white and black heads
Acne scar reduction

Our microdermabrasion relies on the delivery of minute crystals to the surface of the skin.  These crystals gently remove layers of the epidermis as the operator moves the hand piece across the surface.  The combination of skin exfoliation and slight suction, stimulates production of new, living cells at the base level of the skin.  This causes cell turnover and improved blood flow.  Healing time is rapid with minimal discomfort and redness.  Most people return to work immediately with nothing more than a vibrant, healthier looking complexion.  The result is a healthier, fresher skin with enhanced elasticity and skin texture.

Remember, aging skin can impact younger individuals not just those in their middle or late years.  There is no real age range for microdermabrasion treatments since the technique can assist with the prevention of problems in young skin as well as enhance the appearance of skin in older age.

Facial treatments usually take about 15 to 20 minutes.  You benefit from just one treatment, however, most patients schedule 4 to 6 treatments at one to two week intervals.  After the initial course of treatments, we recommend that the patients schedule an additional treatment every 2-3 months to maintain your skin in excellent condition.

This continued regimen of skincare is important.  As you get older the skin finds it more difficult to regenerate and cell renewal is considerably slower.

Take a little time to examine your own skin and use the check list below to determine whether you may benefit from microdermabrasion.

Does your skin have a dry rough feel?
Are the pores open and enlarged?
Are there noticeable color changes?
