This "non-chemical" sunscreen ingredient is gaining recognition for two main reasons.  First, it is an excellent blocker of the sun's UVA rays which are responsible for skin aging and skin cancer.  Also, titanium dioxide formulations are gentle enough to be used on a daily basis on even the most sensitive skin.
